I discovered Lancer when it first went to air in Sydney , Australia in my teenage years and Johnny captured me heart and soul. So desperate was I that I used an audio cassette player to tape the episodes. Can it really be so many years ago? I hope there are plans for a 40^th anniversary celebration.   

This show just kept haunting me throughout my life and no-one I asked could share my enthusiasm until one day, along came the Internet. I began by searching for photos, biographies and episode synopses. Then I discovered I could buy tapes of the series. With this news my joy was endless and my bank balance significantly depleted. Then, just a few months ago, I discovered fan fiction and was spellbound. Suddenly I found myself surrounded by like-minded souls and I realised my obsession was shared. Such relief!  

I took great delight in reading but quickly felt the urge to do more and thank my devoted husband of 28 years for his encouragement and my two teenage children for access to the computer.  

Very bravely one night just 2 months ago I nervously hit <Send> and released my first offering. The surprise and joy at the responses I received from such very generous folk out there encouraged me to continue and I can lay claim to being the writer of Reminiscences, Courting and now The Visitor. Not a bad effort but I really must get back into the housework some day soon.   

There is one acknowledgement I must make. Lacy deserves all the praise I can muster. Her selfless and devoted attention brings out the very best in me and she has my undying gratitude. A better beta I could never imagine.
