CATPETAL

I've always written.  Since I could hold a pencil, and since my father kindly read my work back to me, I've always written stories.  I first wrote fanfiction for Laramie , Man from Uncle and, if I remember rightly, High Chaparral.  I still have the notebooks full of my scrawl and the stories are still in my head - so much so that I re-used an old Laramie story as a Lancer story when I was completely stuck for an idea.  It came as a revelation when I found Lancer sites on the internet and, for the very first time, people who actually wanted to read what I had written.

Since then, writing for WIPlash has meant a great deal to me, helping me through some tough times and adding to my enjoyment of some good ones.  I may have drifted from Lancer now, having discovered a new guy that I want to write about, but this little Lancer piece came to mind and demanded to be written.  And that, for me and I know for many people, is what writing is - something you have to do, something that demands a huge amount of concentration, energy and practice and something that should present greater and greater challenges to writer and reader.  Someday, I hope to be back in Lancerworld for a longer piece but this, for now, is it.
